first_imgJ.J. Abrams and his wife Katie McGrath have donated $50,000 to a Crowdrise page raising money for the young boy with cerebral palsy who was blessed with a kiss on the forehead from Pope Francis during his trip to the US.The Pope blessed Michael Keating with the kiss last month, and following the incredible moment Michael¹s family launched a CrowdRise page to help raise money for an accessible van and additional medical care.“So many people have reached out to the friends and family of Michael Keating to share in the excitement of his blessing from Pope Francis,” Michael’s parents wrote on the fundraising page. “Many have asked if the Keating’s could use any help. As transporting Michael is always a challenge, a handicap van has been on their wish list for years.“The current handicap accessible vehicle that was donated to them by a family friend is in need of a working ramp and has other maintenance issues. We are raising money to put towards a new handicap accessible vehicle and any other expenses for Michael’s care.”The Keating’s story attracted the eye of JJ Abrams, who wrote “You are an amazing family. Thank you for sharing your story.”Over $100,000 has already been raised on the CrowdRise site.To find out more, and make your own donation, click here.last_img
