Car stolen at knifepoint near Hagersville

Police called off a high-speed pursuit near Hamilton this week after a vehicle was stolen at knife-point near Hagersville.Haldimand OPP report two men were fishing in a quarry on Sandusk Road Tuesday when they were approached by four male suspects.Police say one of the suspects pulled a knife and demanded the keys to their car – a 2001 silver-coloured BMW. The suspects also demanded the victims’ cell phones.Two of the suspects drove away with the BMW while two others followed in a red pickup truck, possibly a Dodge Ram.Officers on patrol spotted the stolen vehicle heading north on Highway 6 near Greens Road and attempted to pull it over. The pursuit was abandoned near Upper James Street in Hamilton in the interest of public safety.The theft occurred around 3 p.m. The quarry where the victims were fishing is located on Sandusk Road near the intersection of Walpole Road 12. The victims were not injured.Three of the suspects are described as black males. The fourth suspect is described as a Hispanic male.The stolen BMW has “Racing” written in red letters on the driver-side and passenger-side windows. The vehicle has damage to the driver-side front fender.Anyone with information related to this robbery is asked to contact the Haldimand OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
