Leicester’s title chase NOT over after West Brom draw – Mark Schwarzer

first_imgLeicester City goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer insists the Foxes’ Premier League title chase is NOT over, despite dropping points against West Brom on Tuesday.Claudio Ranieri’s men missed the chance to open up a five point lead at the top as they drew 2-2 with the Baggies in a thrilling game at the King Power Stadium.Title rivals Tottenham  now have the chance to leapfrog them into top spot with a win at West Ham on WednesdayThe Foxes dominated at home but failed to take their chances in front of goal, with the result taking them down from the bookies’ first to third favourites for the top flight crown. However, with ten games left to play and everything still to play for at the top, Schwarzer is confident Leicester will have other chances to further stake their claim for silverware.“Between now and the end of the season there are going to be a lot of sways back and forth on who the favourite is  – it’s still not a foregone conclusion who will win,” the Aussie glovesman told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.“We’re learning very quickly that when you’re at the top, everybody is there to shoot you down.“Teams are coming to the King Power just to get a result, and they’re very satisfied with just taking a draw from us. You’ve got to learn to deal with that and try to find way of overcoming that.“Last night was very frustrating for us, we dominated the game, had a lot of possession, had a lot of chances and on any other night would have scored more goals.“But credit to West Brom, they came with a game plan and they executed it very well. They were threatening going forward, but they scored with their only two real chances on goal.“But you’ve got to take the good with the bad. We were very lucky to pick up three points against Norwich at the weekend.“The manager was very positive after the game, and rightly so because the boys played very well. He was extremely encouraging and said nobody should hang their heads.“There are a lot of games to go, so we’ve just got to keep plugging away.”last_img
