Tony Pidgley took advantage of the firm’s “own build scheme”, where employees can get good rates on construction work, according to the firm’s annual report. He was paid a total of £2.25m last year, while Rob Perrins, managing director, collected £1.1m, both in line with last year. The 12-month yield inched up to 2.727 per cent compared to another tender two weeks previously.“It’s really amazing that the yield on the three-month paper almost halved, it definitely outweighs the negative side with the 12-month rate rising, which is not something to worry about,” said David Schnautz, bond strategist at Commerzbank. center_img KCS-content German debt is in demand Read This Next’A Quiet Place Part II’ Sets Pandemic Record in Debut WeekendFamily ProofHiking Gadgets: Amazon Deals Perfect For Your Next AdventureFamily ProofBack on the Rails for Summer New York to New Orleans, Savannah and MiamiFamily ProofIndian Spiced Vegetable Nuggets: Recipes Worth CookingFamily ProofAmazon roars for MGM’s lion, paying $8.45 billion for studio behind JamesFamily ProofTortilla Mango Cups: Recipes Worth CookingFamily ProofYoga for Beginners: 3 Different Types of Yoga You Should TryFamily ProofWhat to Know About ‘Loki’ Ahead of Disney+ Premier on June 9Family ProofCheese Crostini: Delicious Recipes Worth CookingFamily Proof Tags: NULLlast_img read more

The deal pushed the third-quarter acquisition loan volume to $57bn, the highest quarterly total for M&A since the fourth quarter of 2008.With $60bn of loans in the pipeline – deals in syndication but not yet signed – the market is on track to beat last year’s $650bn annual total, the lowest since 2003.The third quarter is traditionally the quietest three months of the year, since it includes the summer holidays, but it still managed to record the second highest quarterly total since the second quarter of 2008. whatsapp Thursday 30 September 2010 10:28 pm Show Comments ▼ whatsapp Sharelast_img read more

American inflation slumps to its weakest rate for 53 years

first_imgWednesday 17 November 2010 8:11 pm KCS-content whatsapp Show Comments ▼ American inflation slumps to its weakest rate for 53 years whatsapp CORE US inflation fell to an annual rate of just 0.6 per cent in October, according to data released yesterday by the Labor Department. This is the lowest 12 month increase in the 53 year history of the index. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) “less food and energy” recorded no increases at all for the third month in a row.Energy prices, however, continued to soar, increasing by an average of 2.6 per cent, while energy commodities (such as gasoline and fuel oil) increased by 4.4 per cent. The CPI has now shown energy prices increasing for four successive months, since July. However, prices on these items remain volatile. On average energy items only increased by 0.7 per cent in September, yet this rate shot back up to 2.6 per cent last month. The CPI charts price changes of goods and services purchased by US households, surveying 4,000 housing units and approximately 25,000 retail establishments. The news came as the US Commerce Department announced a 11.7 per cent fall in housing construction, the lowest the figures have been for 18 months and below predictions. The fall leaves the annual housing construction rate at 519,000 units. And on Tuesday core US producer prices recorded their biggest fall in over four years, after large declines in vehicle prices. center_img Share Ad Unmute by Taboolaby TaboolaSponsored LinksSponsored LinksPromoted LinksPromoted LinksYou May LikeTotal PastThe Ingenious Reason There Are No Mosquitoes At Disney WorldTotal PastUndoMoneyPailShe Was A Star, Now She Works In ScottsdaleMoneyPailUndoBlood Pressure Solution4 Worst Blood Pressure MedsBlood Pressure SolutionUndoWolf & ShepherdNFL Star Rob Gronkowski’s Favorite ShoesWolf & ShepherdUndoSerendipity TimesInside Coco Chanel’s Eerily Abandoned Mansion Frozen In TimeSerendipity TimesUndoBlood Pressure For LifeWhy Doctors May No Longer Prescribe Blood Pressure MedsBlood Pressure For LifeUndoOne-N-Done | 7-Minute WorkoutAdvertisement 7 Minutes a Day To a Flat Stomach By Using This 1 Easy ExerciseOne-N-Done | 7-Minute WorkoutUndoElite HeraldExperts Discover Girl Born From Two Different SpeciesElite HeraldUndoMagellan TimesThis Is Why The Roy Rogers Museum Has Been Closed For GoodMagellan TimesUndo More From Our Partners Russell Wilson, AOC among many voicing support for Naomi Osakacbsnews.comPolice Capture Elusive Tiger Poacher After 20 Years of Pursuing the Huntergoodnewsnetwork.orgBiden received funds from top Russia lobbyist before Nord Stream 2 giveawaynypost.comBrave 7-Year-old Boy Swims an Hour to Rescue His Dad and Little Sistergoodnewsnetwork.orgA ProPublica investigation has caused outrage in the U.S. this weekvaluewalk.comNative American Tribe Gets Back Sacred Island Taken 160 Years Agogoodnewsnetwork.orgFlorida woman allegedly crashes children’s birthday party, rapes teennypost.comAstounding Fossil Discovery in California After Man Looks Closelygoodnewsnetwork.orgSupermodel Anne Vyalitsyna claims income drop, pushes for child supportnypost.comMark Eaton, former NBA All-Star, dead at 64nypost.comConnecticut man dies after crashing Harley into live bearnypost.comKiller drone ‘hunted down a human target’ without being told tonypost.comWhy people are finding dryer sheets in their mailboxesnypost.comMatt Gaetz swindled by ‘malicious actors’ in $155K boat sale boondogglenypost.comUK teen died on school trip after teachers allegedly refused her pleasnypost.comI blew off Adam Sandler 22 years ago — and it’s my biggest regretnypost.comInside Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis’ not-so-average farmhouse estatenypost.com980-foot skyscraper sways in China, prompting panic and evacuationsnypost.com Tags: NULLlast_img read more

Shoppers hit by soaring petrol price

first_img Share Shoppers hit by soaring petrol price Thursday 24 February 2011 9:09 pm Show Comments ▼ RETAIL sales growth slowed substantially this month, with consumers increasingly squeezed by surging petrol prices, weak wage growth and spiralling price inflation.Elevated oil prices, driven up in recent weeks by the crisis in the Middle East and surging Chinese demand, are set to drive petrol close to £1.40 a litre, some observers said. The rise imposes more pressures on the UK, where consumer price inflation is already double the Bank of England’s two per cent target, and expected to approach five per cent in the coming months. It is already higher than that on other measures.Brent crude briefly hit $119 (£74) a barrel yesterday, before falling back after the Saudis pledged to increase supplies. Some analysts argue every extra $10 a barrel knocks 0.25 per cent off global GDP. Oil at $120 a barrel may add 0.48 per cent to retail price index inflation in the UK, Fathom Consulting said.Rising petrol prices could be compounded by a 5p hike in petrol duty, due in April. Fuel duty is currently 58.94p a litre. Petrol stations are reporting that more consumers are limiting their purchases to a set sum of money, rather than filling their tanks, a sign of distress.More than three out of four – 77 per cent – of retailers are reporting rising prices, according to a survey by the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) yesterday. With only four per cent reporting lower prices, the survey’s inflation index soared upwards by 28 per cent – its most inflationary score in nearly two decades.A balance of only six per cent of surveyed retailers reported a rise in sales during the opening two weeks of this month — 36 per cent saying sales have increased, and 30 per cent saying sales have fallen — according to the CBI.“With rising food, oil and other commodity prices and weak wage inflation, the outlook for UK household income growth looks poor,” said Chris Watling of Longview Economics. “Such a sustained decline in real incomes has not been experienced in the UK since the 1970s,” he added. “The fruits of western money creation are now appearing in terms of consumer price inflation,” Watling said.A 10 per cent rise in petrol prices would cost US consumers $40bn a year, “a reduction in real incomes of around 0.4 per cent,” Capital Economics said yesterday. “Retail sales are likely to be more challenging over the coming months,” said CBI economist Lai Wah Co. “Prices are set to rise considerably as the VAT increase and the soaring cost of raw materials are passed on to shoppers.” KCS-content whatsapp More From Our Partners Florida woman allegedly crashes children’s birthday party, rapes teennypost.comAstounding Fossil Discovery in California After Man Looks Closelygoodnewsnetwork.orgInside Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis’ not-so-average farmhouse estatenypost.comPolice Capture Elusive Tiger Poacher After 20 Years of Pursuing the Huntergoodnewsnetwork.orgRussell Wilson, AOC among many voicing support for Naomi Osakacbsnews.comBrave 7-Year-old Boy Swims an Hour to Rescue His Dad and Little Sistergoodnewsnetwork.orgMark Eaton, former NBA All-Star, dead at 64nypost.comNative American Tribe Gets Back Sacred Island Taken 160 Years Agogoodnewsnetwork.orgA ProPublica investigation has caused outrage in the U.S. this weekvaluewalk.com whatsapp Tags: NULLlast_img read more
