MLS to resume 2020 regular season with schedule announcement

We remain focused on the health and safety of our players, coaches and staff, and look forward to continuing our season in our home markets.”The league will announce its fixtures in a phased approach, with each American club scheduled to play six matches against other American teams by September 14. MLS will announce schedule details for its three Canadian teams at a later date, as tighter restrictions in Canada have limited those clubs’ ability to host matches.  Major League Soccer has announced that the 2020 season will continue in each club’s home market this month, with the first game on August 12.After the league’s season was halted in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, MLS returned to the pitch last month with the MLS is Back Tournament in Orlando, Florida.  Nearly every MLS club will play its initial home matches with no fans present, though FC Dallas, Sporting Kansas City and Real Salt Lake will plan on hosting fans in a limited capacity.How to watch MLS scheduleThe continuation of the season will air nationally in the U.S. on ESPN, FOX Sports and Univision platforms, as well as regionally through individual club broadcast partners. All national TV matches not aired by an English-language network will be streamed live in English on Twitter.
