LAC NOTES

first_imgTHE focus this week will be the Inter Firms 5k Road Race-Fun Run on Tuesday night. We had over 200 athletes last year and organisers are hopeful of a good turnout again this year. The race will begin at 7.30 and entries will be taken at Aura from 6pm.Anyone wishing to pre-enter for the race can do so on Monday night (May 16) from 7 to 8pm at Aura.Well done  to Ivan Toner who finished third in the Ballyshannon 5 k on Friday night. Ivan ran a time of 15.58. The race was won by James Flanagan.We had over a dozen athletes over for the inaugural race of the Grand Prix series. In all 124 athletes took part. They included Barry Meehan ( 17.17), Humphry Murphy (17.27), Aidan McKenna (17.34), Glen Duncan (18.09), Ciaran O’Donnell (18.14), Padraig Friel (18.23), Garvan McCloskey (18.55), Richard Raymond (19.54) and Brendan Delap (20.44).Senior members please note the training sessions for both Tuesday and Thursday nights are at Aura Leisure Centre. Members are reminded that we have a special notice board at Aura where notes will be available from Tuesday evenings at 6.30pm.The lotto numbers this week were: 5, 8, 21 and 23. The match four winners of €20 each were: Brian Kelly, Jayden Davenport, Paul Duddy and George McLaughlin.
